Thank you. I do not follow all the chats so was not sure. My brother and I have
planes with the 80 HP and 100 HP natural aspirated engines. When we shut them
down they stop as if a clamp grabs the crank shaft. Among other aircraft, we
fly a self launching glider called a Lambada. My brother is the US dealer and
we know all of the owners in the US. Not one has complained about this problem.
My question is "Are you hearing this complaint from pilots in the USA as
well as all over?" I know dealer for Sirus aircraft and he has no complaints.
I know of no one here in USA that is flying the turbo. I think it is to young
an engine for us. Not really sure.
I look at the Rotax blogs and do not know where you guys are located although you
are pretty active aviation guys.
Regards
Jimmy

Hi Jim,
This usually happens because carbs are out of sync, poor throttle or choke setup
at engine start, or poor friction torque for the slipper clutch in the 912ULS
or 914.

Jim:
You have been brainwashed - "natural aspirated" - The term
is Normally Aspirated or Carbureted. See what happens when yo watch too
much TV and CNN. I know, I know you are not in the states... Just BUSTING!

Matter of fact I am in USA. Indiana as a matter of fact, and yes if you wish
you can say "normally aspirated" but I wrote that at 4am in the morning so I
have an excuse. However it is also a naturally normal aspirated engine 'cau
se ain't no air being forced into the engine. Now on a more serious note, i c
annot understand why you have the problem unless it is fuel. I would think R
otax would address this because they should have warranty problems. With ou
r 912 UL engines I have never seen it happen. Do you know if this has happen
ed outside the ULS series?
