I believe I was the one who started this thread. The reverse rotation
occurs occasionally on my 912UL if the rpm at shutdown is too high. It can go
backward for as much as 3 complete turns ! (great for backing into parking
spaces)
Of course I don't have a slipper clutch so that isn't the problem. I have
had the gearbox re shimmed and that didn't help. I changed to a lighter
prop which did help a little.
Anyway, I think I have the problem solved. If I shut the engine down with
the engine rpm about 1200 or less,it doesn't happen. Sometimes you can see
at prop stoppage that the prop blade wants to flip backward but at that low
rpm ,it doesn't have quite enough inertia.
