Chasing ghost is certainly frustrating. It is hard to convince some that a battery that seems to turn over okay should be investigated further. It must turn over a certain rpm and to the naked eye looks fine, but just a few rpm too slow and the engine won't produce the electrical power to put enough fire in the plugs. I always tell people to help rule out a battery either jump it from a good live battery or replace it. Some that aren't real familiar with the Rotax equate it to a car engine where even a little battery life so long as it turns over a little may make the car engine fire. Our batteries like to stay charged so they either need to be flown once every two weeks or more or better to put them on a FLOAT charger not a trickle charger. A few extra dollars spent on a good float, temperature compensating charger can make a difference if you leave it on all the time. -------- Roger Lee Tucson, Az. No need to spend a lot to get float charging. I've used a BatteryTender Junior for many years on multiple airplanes with excellent results. This is a float charger but not expensive at all. http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-021-0123-Junior-Charger/dp/B000CITK8S -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY (9G0) Kolb Slingshot SS-021 no engine FOR SALE Diamond Katana DA20-A1 Rotax 912 F3 Don't worry about old age... it doesn't last very long. - Anonymous Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=395510#395510 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message rotaxengines-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/RotaxEngines-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/rotaxengines-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/rotaxengines-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
