When I took classes at Lockwood's in 2007 one of the classroom aids was a 912 with a gaping hole, AIR near the #4 cylinder. The story that went with it was that the owner had hooked the oil lines up backward, didn't pre-oil or burp the engine, and fired it up. I believe Eric said the engine detonated in less than 10 seconds. Anyone out there recall this engine and its story? I recall hearing over and over from Phil, Dean and others at Lockwood that oil starvation was deadly to the engine and both always show the correct oil line hook up at seminars where ever they do them. Can't recall the busted block when I took the course at Lockwood around 2006.
