Subject: | 912 oil return line in silicon |
Hello,
I am replacing the hoses on my 912 and I am thinking of using silicon hose for
the oil return line. This is probably the hose that is the most affected by heat
as just above the exhaust system. It works in a low over pressure environment
of around 0,35 bar yet I have never seen a silicon tube used on this line.
On the other hand the oil pump feed line (used in an under pressure environment)
is often made of silicon.
Is there a reason for not using a silicon return line as the rubber ones harden
due to heat?
Regards,
John
