Brians remark about all hoses not having the same characteristics is a valid one but I will be using the same quality and type that is on the oil inlet line. As far as heat, silicone is usually better than rubber (@500F vs @375F). Another spec is resistance to vacuum (hose collapse). I don't remember what else is discussed. Check the Installation Manual against the specs of the hose you are considering.
