It seems basically reasonable in comprehensiveness as it is. Vision Microsystems suggests you fly the airplane for a while before deciding what checklist information you wish to customize. Because you have to remove the Data Processing Unit to change out a memory chip, I have elected to commit to a final checklist before I limit access to the DPU with the installation of the forward upper skin. I don't like being on my back, scrunched up under the subpanel any more than I have to! Since you only get one "free" chip burn, I am soliciting advice and suggestions from those who routinely fly adhering to a checklist in all flight regimes including possible engine out and fire parameters. Since you can opt for up to 170 checklist items, (even more for retractables) I don't want to get crazy here. Another words, for those of you who have a written or electronic checklist, or in the case of the EC 100 and you had it to do over, what would you add or delete to a checklist given the parameters of an 0-320 with a fixed pitch prop? Vision Microsystems said they would be happy to send me RV-6A checklist examples, but only with the permission of the owner of a specific N number using the EC100. Reply off list if you desire. You can "tame" the anchor nuts by first running a socket set screw or a socket head cap screw , lightly greased, into them before putting in the final screw. These screws are made to class 3 standards and are about a .001 larger than the final AN, MS or stainless screw you will finish with. Those screws are all class 2 . We "sized" all the anchor nuts before they were installed, using a socket set screw, driving it thru the anchor nut. Makes a much milder fit. I found this piece AFTER I layed up the fiber glass. BUT, I would have made the fiberglass piece anyway, its much cleaner and nicer looking installation. It's this stupid Microsoft email program that insists on breaking long lines. If anyone knows how to fix that in Outlook Express let me know. In the meantime just make sure you enter the whole link in your browser including the part that's wrapped to the next line in the email. Or just go to the FAA web site (http://www.faa.gov) and enter "Special Airworthiness Certification Process Inspect Aircraft" in the search window. The relevant part is in the document "Aircraft Certification Products and Services Special Airworthiness Certificate - Experimental Category For the Purpose of Exhibition Step 6. Inspect Aircraft (FAA) , Aircraft Certification Products and Services Page", which says (in part): That the "Passenger Warning" placard is displayed in full view of all passengers in the cabin or cockpit (Note: This placard is not applicable to single occupant aircraft).
