It does take some expertise to put them on correctly but well worth the trouble. I changed it to flush head after ordering new screws and dimpled nut plates. K1100-6 I believe. Hope this helps. I do think the screws need to protrude all the way through the nut plates so a couple of threads show when installed, same as for a regular nut. Works "most" of the time!
