Not entirely RV related so delete now if that irritates you. I have been trying to find a campground somewhere around Reno during the weekend of the Air Races in Sept. but so far no Joy. The "camping" at the races is just pulling your truck into a big dirt parking lot for two days and coughing up $150. I had in mind a nice tent campground in a cool canyon 10-15 miles outside of Stead. The only thing I have found so far is RV (the other kind) parking ....generally in a casino parking lot. For those who have been making this pilgrimage for a few years, can you point me in a suitable direction? A mountain biker friend of mine says he just drives out onto BLM land and sets up....not sure if that is really ok. Thanks for your suggestions. BLM is ok unless local regs forbid camping. I've never seen that, however. How far is it to national forest? That would be cooler probably. There should be several campgrounds within the area. I THINK it's the Carson National Forest, you can check the web. ----- Original Message ----- From: Evan and Megan Johnson To: rv-list@roxy.matronics.com Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2006 8:25 AM Subject: RV-List: Reno air races/camping Not entirely RV related so delete now if that irritates you. Spanish Springs airport allows camping, but no showers, and only a portable out house. Its also a dirt strip but they are VERY friendly and can take you to the car rental place. Its about a 20 minute drive to the races if memory serves. Evan and Megan Johnson <evmeg@snowcrest.net> wrote: Not entirely RV related so delete now if that irritates you. --> RV-List message posted by: "az_gila" <gilalex@earthlink.net> Guys.... if you want a font that is FAA legal (exactly to the dimensions in the FAR) and works whether there are commies in the state or not.... :D The font is usually called "Military Block letter" and is actually an old Air Force font called USAF Amarillo A link is here... and it's actually shareware... Download the font, and your favorite graphics maker can make vinyl graphics or a paint mask from it. This is what they look like on my newly painted Tiger... The blue interior of the letters are exactly to the specifications.... :) gil in Tucson Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=41536#41536
