It would depend on what you want to see. If you want to see vendors go
to copperstate (no vendors at LOE). If you want to see RV'S and visit
with builders go to LOE (probably 150 or more RV'S will flyin).

Go to both....
Copperstate has much greater diversity of and many more - airplanes/vendors
people, LOE is about RVs, which, much as they don't see themselves that way
are a bit of a tight crowd. And don't get all pissy, it is not a negative
statement, they are just really into their airplanes and so into each other
as a community.
SO LOE tends to have a number of large RV groups that somewhat revolve
around each other. But for the outsider it is a bit daunting to break into
that unless you are obnoxious like me and don't care, or local to one of the
groups and can pester your way in. But they are very friendly folks, it's
just that they are so familiar with each other that one is left missing a
part of the joke as it were. Getting past that takes time, which fly-ins are
not famous for, they tend to go ba,da ba,doo ba,ding, time to go home.
Copperstate is more aimed at being a fly-in for the public and the fly-in
public, vs LOE is aimed at being a fly-in for the RV'ers
If you really want to have a good time become a volunteer at either, or
both, it matters not what you do, just volunteer, be somewhat self directed
and motivated and you'll be in the thick of it in no time.

I thought I would have a chance to get into the thick of it when I moved to
Texas. Most RVers however seem to live down in the southern or central
portion. I live in North East Texas. I have only met maybe one or two
other RV owners up here. Truth is you have to be a little more outgoing
than I to get to know these folks. We have a very diverse and great bunch
of RV owners, but ya do got to make the effort to get to know them. I have
yet to do so.

Ok, was easier than I thought, was just afraid to take it too far apart
and not be able to get it back together again.

Tim, try hitting the Lufkin Fajita fly-in on the 2nd Sat each month. I
usually make it and my gray Navion is easy to spot. Most of the organizers
can point me out. I fly with a contingent of RV's from Hooks, there's
normally some more from Conroe and a few local RV's. Find me and join us.
Regards,
Greg Young

It is acceptable/practical to use high temp. nylon cable ties under the
cowling? Will a DAR accept the use of these to secure wires to the
