A bald-faced scam, absolutely.  And disgraceful English, for a subject of the Crown (although there's a chance he's more fluent in Britain's new official language, Pakistani.)

I'd send him the requested info, with a few digits out of sequence, just to play with him and get his panties in a bunch.

Surely there must be something more than the servo alone as Van's charges $260 but it's a Ray Allen Company $155 servo, isn't it? http://rayallencompany.com/products/servos.html Am I missing something here? BTW, is the RAC T3-12A servo used for RV-8 elevator trim? How about RV-8 aileron trim? Now I understand: rocker switch, bar graph indicator, sheet metal brackets, clevis, and push rod. I didn't realize that. The RAC servos I've installed (in non-RVs) needed stick grips with switches and relay decks but I guess the Van's trim kit could be considered a complete installation if one was satisfied without the extras. When he asked me about it I told him that I have never heard of this occurring before but that I would query the list to see if anyone has experienced any problems in that area. My only guess is that the bolt may be loose enough to permit the bolt hole, bolt or both to wear.
