If you would compensate for shipping, I will call it even. You will notice small grooves in the metal. They are barely .001" deep. I polished the outside and it makes the grooves stand out. They should not be a problem. Keep the bushing greased as the metal will rust if left unprotected. The outside diameter is -.001" from 17 MM. This will allow a slip fit. The inside diameter is +.0002 for a slip fit of the bolt. I do not need a tailwheel. I am building a nosedragger. Thanks for the offer. The tower would confirm the presence of the ELT tone on 121.5 comment about its signal strength. How do we test the new ELTs? I'm out of the loop on this... Thanks. It was the flight test period as the plane only had 5 hours of flight time. I went on the Internet to find a little more info. I was shocked to read the comments of the airport director. Quote from the website: http://www.lasvegasnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=8883721&nav=168Ye9lq According to Airport Director Randall Walker, this incident is the worst air accident off the airport grounds in Las Vegas history. Now for the first time, Walker is publicly calling for more local control over what aircraft come in and out of airports. Walker says the airport has no control over what aircraft fly in and out -- there hasn't even been a risk assessment for what kind of risks these experimental aircraft may pose. But he says he is going to start lobbying to get Congress to change the law and allow airports to have more control. But again, Randall Walker says that these kinds of aircraft do not belong in urban areas. >From AirNav website: Ownership: Publicly-owned Owner: CLARK COUNTY 2730 AIRPORT DR SUITE 101 NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV 89030 Phone 702-261-3802 Manager: DOUG MCNEELEY 2730 AIRPORT DR SUITE 101 NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV 89030 Phone 702-261-3800 MGR. As assistant county manager, he oversaw 12 county departments and provided fiscal oversight for District Court, Justice Court, and all of Clark County's elected officials. In 1995, Walker served as director of the county's Department of Finance. ************************************************************************* *********************************** I read the complete bio and there was no indication of any aviation experience. My first question is why do ANTI-AVIATION types, who are not pilots and have no flying experience, rise up to get airport director jobs? For example, the new director of airports for San Bernardino County, CA is not a pilot. My info maybe old, but the Navy had a rule that to command an aircraft carrier, you had to be a pilot. Might make a good rule for airport managers. (Sour grapes alert.) I might have a chip on my shoulder about this. As the manager of Apple Valley, CA (KAPV) airport job because available, I was not given a interview as I didn't have a BA business degree. My Masters Degree in Computer Science and a BS in Chemistry of course, didn't prepare me to run a airport. However, I also have twenty years of military experience as a flight safety officer and Supervisor of Flying. (Enough sour grapes.) Seems to me, we need to get EAA and AOPA on this right away before it gets out of hand. Please write and call anybody you think can help.
