2 jerry cans in the baggage area, with a siphon tube run to the third position on the fuel selector would do... dirt cheap, easy, no drag, probably no more dangerous than modifying a proven airframe design (boy, is that likely to stir the pot). Just burn the in-cockpit fuel first, then switch to mains. My airplane has always held more fuel than my bladder could hold excitement. Enough trolling for one day... ;-) -Stormy On Wed, Jan 28, 2009 at 7:54 AM, Dale Ensing <densing@carolina.rr.com>wrote: > Me Too! Are they intended to drop or only as aux tanks? Why would one punch the tank off? To go into battle? Certainly looks cool =2C but if one were to drop something=2C wouldn't practice bombs (e.g.=2C c andy (or pumpkin) filled 1 litter bottles with fins (flour would cause a sc are)) be more helpful? If anyone has already engineered a release mechanis m=2C contact me off-line. Whoops=2C got to go...TSA is already at my door...... Just uploaded some photos to the SoCal RV List demonstrating a simple way to vacuum bag small composite pieces using a Food Saver. Not anything new, but a simple and handy way to get great results with working with composites. Looks like the last two photos are in the incorrect order, but you get the idea. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCAL-RVlist/photos/album/1773472800/pic/list Enjoy, John D'Onofrio RV8 (_Tailgummer@aol.com_ (mailto:Tailgummer@aol.com) )

A guy here had some sort of cheap gas can as his fuel tank. It was somewhere in the front of the cockpit..possibly in front of the rudder pedals but I forget. One evening he had some sort of problem, made a turn back to the airport, hit a utility pole and was engulfed in flames. Life support was removed a few days later. Ron Lee 2 jerry cans in the baggage area, with a siphon tube run to the third position on the fuel selector would do... dirt cheap, easy, no drag, probably no more dangerous than modifying a proven airframe design (boy, is that likely to stir the pot).
