The post on the T-18 web site says they are not "drop" tanks. Just 5 extra
gallons if your badder can handle it!

Doesn't the "drop" only have to do with how you fill them? Drop them to
fill them and then lift them back into place. Plus when you don't need them
you just leave them in the hangar; yes?

Drop tanks were used on fighters to go long distances to engage, just
before they engaged the enemy airplanes, the tanks were dropped. They
were dropped to reduce drag and increase the edge, if possible.

For me, 2 1/2 hours in an RV-4 was plenty. On a 6 you have 3 1/2....why an
yone would want the complexity and drag, and work required to install on a
-6 that has 600 miles (or more) on one leg is beyond me!=0A=0APaul Besing
