Jerry,
=C2-=C2-=C2-=C2-=C2- Goodyear doesn't make replacement belts anym
ore as that product line was spun off in 2007. Goodyear is an OE supplier f
or many auto manufactures including Toyota and there quality is next to non
e!
=C2-=C2-=C2-=C2- The new electric car from GM the Volt achieves it'
s range in part due to a newly designed tire from Goodyear.
=C2-=C2-=C2-=C2-=C2- The rubber timing belts from Toyota have alw
ays been a poor idea...note my new RAV4 has a chain so this time Toyota fin
ally got i right!

My name is Michael Jefferson I am a grumman driver as well as a Toyota Tech
,
Yes you can get you timing belt from a toyota dealership, no you probely wo
nt save any
money, and no I do not think that Goodyear belts are as good as a toyota pr
oduct,
if this is your first timing belt 90k miles and 8 years later, why not spen
d an extra
couple of bucks and get another one that you can depend on for another 90k
miles
and 8 more years, No I do not work for Toyota anymore, Now=C2-I work for
a GMC PONTIAC
& BUICK dealership as a GM WORLDCLASS TECH,

Let me try this again...
Jerry,
You might try these people... http://www.lexuspartsmall.com/
I've only bought from them one time, but they were only 60% of what my local
Lexus Dealer was.

Dear Listers ...
I thank you all who responded to this subject matter. I learned plenty
about the car, parts, factory made and "knock-off", tricks of the
repair world and the good and sound practices of private repair shops
(Charlie Kuss). There's a boat load of talent and experience on this
List.
My thanks to those who surfaced with their offerings and to the List for
off topic stuff.

Subject: | Fixed pitch to Constant Speed Conversion |
I am converting my O-360-A1A from fixed to constant speed and need a
prop governor drive adaptor and the hose that would connect the
governor to the front gallery. If anyone has these items laying about
and would be willing to part with them shoot me an email with details.
Thanks
Thomas
