i39=2C Richmond=2C Madison Kickoff Flyin is
officially on the books for Saturday March 7th.
We have had a new business take over the FBO. Warbirds of America also
has relocated to the corporate hangar. The appearance of the FBO has
substantially changed along with the attitudes and environment. The
airport is once again a nice place to hang out.
i39 is located in Central Kentucky=2C just south of Lexington. We have
had over 100 GA aircraft here for this one day flyin. The list of RV

weather=2C suffice to say we have had a couple good years of weather.
Remember=2C if you fly in there will be no ambulances=2C
firetrucks or emergency personnel on site........there=2C that out of
the way.
We will once again have coffee=2C donuts=2C
hotdogs=2C colas=2C water ........................and..............again
this year...............a client is showing up with his mobile corn
roaster!!
Starting time is light 30 with closing at dark 30. Bring your camera
and best lies=2C you will need the best of both. No vendors=2C no $3
hotdogs=2C no forums=2C no nothing=2C just airplanes and friends. Be carefu

this is an uncontrolled airfield with no NOTAMS=2C no nothing=2C safety is
up to you.
Keep your head on a swivel and use the radio. You know the drill.
Looking forward to seeing everyone nice and early. 60 degrees and

Jerry,
Just fly a little south of I39 and let the winds blow you back to I39.
Winds 200-210mph, cruise @ 170mph = - 30-40mph about 20-30minutes flying
backwards. Piece o' Cake. LOL!!!!
Wish that I could attend but have to work at hospital Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon.
Flu has a lot of hospital staff down.
Dana, don't have too much fun with 'Black' back in the air. Eat some wings
for me.

Larry,
I can't say from experience yet but the Lord mounts are known for not
allowing engine sag. I think they cost around $140 apiece and don't
know how much the Barry mounts (Vans) cost.

I was also told that the Lord mounts would not sag as much as the Barry mou
nts from Van's. Now, ten years later, I can not see that the Barry mounts h
ave compressed beyond the oinriginal set after hanging the engine.
Perhaps the Lord mounts do a better job of isolating engine vibration.
