Too heavy and susceptible to serious moisture problems if it gets wet, mold, mildew, and ridiculous weight gain. And it isn't meant to be a fire protection at all. We are using a closed cell, self adhesive, black foam that meets FAR burn specs on the cabin side of the firewall. It's not on the web store yet, but will soon be. We also have a non-fire rated, but otherwise similar foam on the store right now. Install and seal the edges with RTV (just in case the adhesive weakens) and you've got a nice tidy installation. On the forward side of the firewall we use a ceramic fabric, foil faced, also self adhesive that looks great and is very user friendly and inexpensive. It's rated for 1100 deg (foil) but the ceramic will take much more. Of course, you need to seal down the edges with silicone RTV, Proseal, foil tape, etc. While no one can claim complete fire resistance for any material, this stuff will go a LOOOONG way towards keeping your feet cool under normal ops, and give extra time if you do have a fire.
