YES!!!!!! It happened on Friday 24th July. I flew my baby while Gerry Humphreys flew chase in his 'Flying Cow' RV-7 EI-HUM and his son Harry did a video of the entire flight and produced the edited versions below. (His other productions on YouTube are well worth a look.) They took good care of me on my 15k and 20k ancient ANC headsets, too. Never a charge or a question - just prompt repair of any issue. About three years ago, when I finished my RV8, I was in the market for headsets. My wife didn't want one that went over her head and messed up her hair so we got a Lightspeed Mach1. Worked great and she loved it. On our last breakfast run she dropped the Mach1 on the floor of the airplane, when she picked it up it got caught on something and pulled the mic off the boom. I could not find my receipt or any paperwork on the headset. So I got Lightspeeds phone number off the web site and called their customer service. I told her we broke it and needed it fixed, she was very nice and gave me a hardware return number and took my info. They also sent an email with the same info. I mailed the Mach1 off and got another email when they received it. Expecting a call with the cost to repair it, I was surprised to get another email saying it was in the mail back to me and a tracking number. I week to the day I received, not a repaired headset but, a new one in a new case at NO charge. I have nothing to do with the Lightspeed folks but I was so impressed with there product and their customer service that I thought somebody should know. Subject: Hooker Rotary Harness Installation
Dear Listers, I was looking at how the Hooker Harnesses were going to be installed and noticed that the triangle mounting pieces have a small, "bushing" in the hole where the bolt goes. The triangle piece is already about twice the thickness of Vans standard belts and its a tight fit to get them squeezed into the mounting forks. But with the bushing in there it seems impossible. Are you suppose to just remove the bushing, or some how mash it down? I don't get it... Thanks! Matt Dralle RV-8 #82880 N998RV

Subject: Conduit Placement in QB RV7 Wings - UPDATE
Thanks John, I got all of the stuff from Home Depot yesterday and kept the package in case someone else needed to know the part numbers. (the help there did not know they had them and I had to hunt them up myself) They come in 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch for 1/2 and 3/4 PVC pipe. I used the more expensive type of 3/4 pipe because airplane stuff is supposed to be more expensive,... right ? Anyway, the cheap PVC stuff was .89 for a 10 foot piece and the expense stuff was 4.95 so naturally I bought the high dollar stuff. The clamps were 2.95 for a package of 5. (See picture 295 for part numbers) 30 minute job,... done deal. Between the Vans Diagram on an earlier post and this, I think I can get it done without any holes. Really like the joist hanger idea, never saw that before and it's a lot easier than adel clamps. Thanks a bunch, as usual, the list is just an amazing source of almost instant information. I need to run conduit in my QB wings but there are no consistent tooling holes anywhere except where Vans put the pitot holes and the one tooling hole above that. (actually below if the wing is right side up). It would be pretty easy to put a 3/4 hole in place of the pitot holes and in the tooling holes above with a 3/4 step drill and a 4 foot extension but it would get pretty close to the spar. Is there an edge distance issue with this or does it even apply? Doing it anywhere else without the tooling holes is problematic? Any comments, suggestions, pictures appreciated. <<...>> Bill S RV7 only the wings left,.. This is what I did: CPVC? (lighter than regular PVC) and joist hangers from Big R Ranch Supply. Matt=2C You can take the bushings out of the mount. Just make sure you don't crank down too tight on the bolts. The triangles shoudl pivot freely in the air frame mounts.
