Tom, I have also used the soft crushable aluminum AN fitting washers - they
are cone shaped and will fit right over the male part of the fitting. They
are very soft so handle with care.

That sounds like a great idea. It's good to know there is something else to
try.

You can buy 37 degree 'gaskets' made out of very soft aluminum from aircraft
spruce in at least the -4 and -6 sizes. The aluminum is soft enough that it
will fill and seal minor imperfections.
I have more than one of them in my airplane - they're even on the 'approved'
list according to ACS......

Hi gang,
I'm looking for anyone who can advise me about living and flying in
the Santa Barbara, CA area. I'll be retiring in May and have been
considering southern Cal for several years.
I would love to talk to anyone who has lived and flown in the SB area.

Seems like an expensive place to retire to, and now that CA is
"broke"....but it's probably is a bit warmer than PA ;) Have you
checked into New Mexico? A bit desolate, but things seemed pretty
cheap, leaving more money for RVing. Do not archive.

Louis,
Take a look at the high desert if you want to move to CA.
Housing is half the price of Santa Barbara and we don't get all the coastal
fog. :-)

Coastal Southern CA is really nice. Suggest you try it out and see if it's
to your liking. Cost of living is a factor, of course, but if you can swing
it go for it. This just may be the time to buy???
Many airports, friendly pilots, a multitude of servfces available, great
weather, lots to see and do. Life is short, do what suits you and your
family.

Subject: | GPS ANTENNA QUESTION |
Hello Gents
I just bought a used Bendix/King KLN 35A GPS as a
replacement for my now obsolete Loran and I'm in need of an antenna for it.
If anyone has a KA-92 antenna that they don't need anymore, I will be
interested if the price is right.
Also I was wondering if anyone on the list would know if a Garmin GA-56 (
Non-Wass ) antenna will work with it. There are lots for sale on EBAY.
I've been told that most of these GPS required 5 volts to work and most of
the antennas out there will work but I would like to be sure before I buy
one.
Your help is appreciated.
Cheers
Bruno Dionne
