I have used "static cling" green plastic from Pep Boys that cost $12 for over 10-years. One thing nicer about the "static cling" tint material is that I can see through it when doing ACM. Gary A. Im considering flying up there to look the area over, On google earth, looks like lots of hangers in Hamilton. Any folks on here from that area, or know of RV's there? It works great, is convenient / easy to adjust as needed, and is easy to install. No regrets, and I consider it money well spent. Mine is a tip up, not a slider, so can't speak to those questions but have a friend with a -6 slider that has one installed and he's just as happy with it. I have an -8 with an IO-360 and heavy prop, so fwd CG is a consideration. I would like to be able to (among other things) camp at OSH with tent and sleeping bags, while still having someone in the second seat. My solution was to hinge the aft baggage aft bulkhead to fold forward / flat and continue the aft baggage deck aft to the next frame. This allows me quite a bit of volume for high bulk / low density items like sleeping bags or canopy covers, without any undue aft CG hazard. FWIW, YMMV, etc >From: Matt Dralle >Subject: RV-List: Canopy Covers > > >Dear Listers, > >I'm in the market for a top-notch canopy cover for the RV-8. Very light weight and seem to be completely water proof. I don't know about the RV-8 cover, you'd have to call Cleveland and ask about covering the forward baggage opening. I'm wanting the highest quality materials and workmanship on the product. I want it for overnight trips where it might rain so it needs to completely cover the front baggage door. When folded up, I don't want it to completely fill the limited rear baggage area in the RV-8, either. I Google RV-8 Canopy Cover as well as looked at Van's Online catalog, and there seems to be plenty of "options", but I'm looking for some empirical data on quality, fit, and stowage. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
