    Subject: Idle mixture
Can anyone out there tell me which way the idle mixture set screw should be turned for leaning the Precision Airmotive carburetor on my O-320 engine? counterclockwise or clockwise? I'm assuming there is a standard direction for these carbs. I can't give you a serial number at the moment, and the meager documentation that came with the beast isn't explicit on the subject - it just advises to lean until the RPM rise is 25 to 50 when leaning to cutoff. Thanks for any help on this. Grant Neilson RV9A C-GGNX 177 hours flying

In normal carburetors CCW is richer (the needle backs out and allows more fuel to flow into the throat). -GV In a message dated 8/3/2010 11:46:16 P.M.
