The heat shields should be positioned near any heat sensitive part (ignition
leads etc) that are near the exhaust piipe. You will probably need 3 or
four of them.
When I built my RV8 , I noticed that some of the ignition cables were
breaking down prematurly. The heat shields fixed the Problem.
