I'll be reviewing the wiring and probably swapping the guages left for right (that's a pretty easy test). Glad to hear it's not an isolated incident. When I first got mine I observed the same thing you did and had Van's send me a couple gauges and senders. I found two that behaved similarly, kept and installed them and sent the others back. As long as they seem to respond normally to the presence/absence of fuel when the system is energized I would leave them alone. Mine still act properly and the same after 13 yrs in the air. -GV In a message dated 02/18/11 14:52:08 Pacific Standard Time, recapen@earthlink.net writes: I have two of Vans fuel gauges installed in my 6A - flying about 90 hours or so....standard SW senders in the tanks - they appear to read correctly. Today when I shut down and turned the master off, I noticed one of the gauges went right to zero - so quickly that it looked like the needle bounced on the stop. The other gauge did the normal gentle return to zero. Do I have an issue here with one of the gauges? I would think they should act the same. I don't know when this was posted, but a friend on mine picked up on a problem this week from another "list service" he belongs too so I thought I'd pass this note on. Marty "Garmin has identified an issue with reception of XM weather products for aviation and marine devices using a GXM30, GXM31, GXM40 and GXM 51. This issue will make it difficult for the devices to receive weather information. The issue has been corrected with a free software release from Garmin. Aviation software can be updated using Garmin's WebUpdater. The 396 will need software version 4.60 or higher; the 496 will need software version 3.70 or higher." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message rv-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/RV-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/rv-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/rv-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
