Matt,
Generally, you can re-use the fitting. If in doubt, you can add conical, copper
sealing washers between the flare and the AN fittings to improve the seal. See
http://lastminutemall.com/secoseals/SECO_7_Copper_Seals.html
http://www.ap100.com/
or go to Aircraft Spruce's site and do a search for : 04-05006 DEL FITTING SEAL
3/8" OD

I pulled out all of the fuel selector valve and fuel pump goodies from the old
fuselage today. I disassembled all of the various flare ends and cleaned up all
the Fuel Lube with lacquer thinner making sure not to get any in the pump or
valve or transducers. All but two of the fuel lines seem to be reusable and
don't show any signs of damage from the Mishap. I really don't want to have
to recut, rebend, and reflare all of these if I don't have to.
What's the common knowledge on reusing the flares on the fuel and brake lines?
Am I just asking for a bunch of leaks if I put these back into service now that
I've unscrewed them?
Thanks!

Matt,
I've used these many times. They can save a slightly nicked flare and make the
sealing much easier. Not necessary everywhere, but very handy in a few places.
You can get them at any decent hydraulic shop or online.

Tom-
I don't claim to understand all I know on the subject and I could easily have been
misled on this matter. I can't confirm or deny the existence of an inlet
screen on either the Facet electric boost pump or the Lycoming mechanical low
pressure (carb) pumps.
I have done no servicing in this regard since I have never seen either a flow or
pressure drop on my instrumentation since day one. But you raise a good point
and maybe someone on the list here can enlighten us all.
Inquiring minds want to know, do the Facet 40108 and/or Lycoming LW-15472 (Low
Pressure) have serviceable inlet screens?
-Thx

Hi Van:
I have been looking over your annual inspection list - thanks very much for that,
BTW. It makes reference to a fuel pump screen. I was not aware of this.
I haven't been able to find any reference to it on the internet. Do standard
Lycoming fuel pumps have screens? What do I have to do to access the screen?
Thanks
