Ok, I'm starting a new "thread". I think this is the next best thing in the next best thing for the RV flyer after GPS and Weather..... Lets compare these two programs... Based on the Hiltonsoftware.com videos, initially, I was all set to load up my iPAD 2 and go. I also loaded up Foreflight's software for a comparison. I really like the idea of the split screen offered by Wing X, and also the SUA airspace capability ( in fairness, this info is also available on Foreflight, but not just via a tap on the screen in the proper location.) However, that said, so far, I'm liking the Foreflight system, as they have a iPAD user's manual and I've not been able to find on for the Wing X Pro 7 software. So, as a result, I can't seem to load and view the Wing X Approach Charts for the airports in view 2 unless it is for the destination airport. Obviously, this is an issue for me when flying round robin type of flights to several airport during a trip. Can anyone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong or right in this analysis? I'm using the 30 trial type subscriptions to make this comparison so something capabilities might be turned off during this period. So far, I like the "refresh" rate of the Wing X Pro 7 over the Foreflight system, but it is not a determinate in deciding which to purchase as this really only impacts my usage while on the ground and not in flight. Comments welcome! Marty N826ME RV-6A

We use foreflight in the air since it works on GPS signals in the iPhone... I am using ForeFlight on my iPad2. I used it for an IFR departure out of So Cal with a paper backup. That was my first actual IFR using the iPad. I fle w all the way from LA to Pittsburgh then Oshkosh using only ForeFlight to r eplace my paper products. Never touched the paper stuff. IMHO=2C ForeFlight hasvthe best USER interface. X-Wing and SkyCharts (insta lled on my iPhone and iPad) all have something but the thevuser interface o n ForeFlight has me won over. Subject: RV-List: Wing X Pro 7 for iPad and Foreflight. I have both (paid for a year of each the 30 days was not enough for me). I j ust made it to OSH today from CCB. There are some features I like with Wing X however out of the 10.7 hours it took me to get here I used Wing X probably less than the 0.7. For the most part I found ForeFlight easer to use in the air. I also have the Flight Guide app. I like the way the information is arranged . Although I did find it had the Fort Dodge CTAF listed incorrectly. The geo referenced taxi in ForeFlight is GREAT. Fort Dodge is big with cross ing runways and with that I knew exactly where I was. I like wing x but Fore Flight is my choice after the flight from KCCB TO KOS H. Mike Divan Freedom is not free. Remember to thank the American Solder, Sailor, Airman, Marine and Coast Guar d for yours.
