Today I performed checks as per Dougs instructions and beleive the problem
to be the gauge.

Today I performed checks as per Dougs instructions and beleive the
problem to be the gauge.
I don=99;t know the setup you have but, if the sending unit is
screwed into an anodized oil manifold, that could a problem. Resistance
between that manifold and the sending unit should be Zero. The best way
to make sure is to run a ground wire between the sending unit body and a
known good GROUND.
