RV6 Landing Gear attachment weldment=0AHello,=0A- - I have a situation
on which I would like to hear from anyone else who has knowledge or experie
nce with same. I have an RV6 with the older (pre RV7) engine / landing gear
mount. I have just over 600 Hrs on it and recently discovered a small crac
k on the lower weld - lower left corner. -I am aware that Van's has a mod
available to address that problem (I know I am not the first to experience
this), and I am sure that I will need to disassemble (engine and mount rem
oval) to the point of correcting and adding those gussets. Is this a ground
ed immediately situation, or can I continue to fly with careful and frequen
t monitoring and do the repair perhaps sometime this winter (assuming that
the problem / crack does not deteriorate further). Comments & feed back app
