I have one mounted on the back side of my firewall. It=99s still ther e but I just cut the wires to it because my first replacement alternator ca me with an internal voltage regulator. That=99s how I remember it. I think I=99m on my third alternato r but they only cost about $99 or less from your favorite auto parts store and they all come with an internal voltage regulator. Capen" Subject: RV-List: Dynon interfacing to S-Tec Anyone out there using this combo? Dynon says they don't output roll steering or interface with S-Tec...however their manual indicates that any device that would accept commands can use the ARINC output stream...."The HS34 has one ARINC output channel with 2 sets of pins on the connector for wiring convenience. If one or both of your ARINC devices can accept commands, set the OUTPUT DATA to ON and configure OUTPUT SPEED appropriately." I'm trying to replace a NSD1000 HSI that has a defective gyro pack. I can get the Dynon D10A for less than the repair costs and have a lot more functionality. Right now, the important piece that I am losing is the analog heading bug functionality in the NSD1000 that drives my S-Tec 30 in the analog heading mode! I can understand that they want you to buy their autopilot - but they have a STC for this device and lots of folks have old certificated gear that is failing. If anyone out there is using this combo, please let me know as the Dynon has an ARINC output mode which easily could support the commands to interface with the S-Tec 30 GPSS interface.
