Installation was easy other than having to get under the instrument panel. I installed the external echoUAT transponder antenna at the firewall and on the opposite side of the fuselage from my existing transponder antenna. Doesn=99t quite meet the 36 inch separation requirement, but seems to work okay. My existing GPS antenna is mounted on a firewall bracket under the cowl and there was room to put the SkyFYX antenna on the bracket. Punched a hole in the firewall to run RG-400 cable. B&C connectors come with the assembly. Mounting the echoUAT was a bit problematic until I found a location for it, but installation was a snap. echoUAT box is smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Power and ground wires are easy. Mating with the existing transponder was easy and instructions are included for several brands of acceptable transponders. Mine was an SL-70. I ordered the system from the factory rep who was a great support help in programming the echoUAT. You use an IPad, iPhone or other tablets/phones to program the system. The uAvionix rep was Shane Woodson at (214) 909-1515. I=99ll be glad to answer any other questions you can come up with. I mounted mine on an easily removable small panel in the right side of the battery box (original battery location in the cabin against the firewall) and placed the SkyFX antenna on the glare shield. Have not completed the p rogramming yet so fingers crossed it all checks out. The UAT antenna is in the bottom skin directly below the echoUAT and I just connected it to the short coax pigtail they provide through a 90 degree and male to male BNC ad apters. Looks like it should work fine. Harry Crosby RV-6 N16CX, 1500 hours and going strong.
