They last longer than the mil spec o-rings. They are higher temperature rated BUT the down side is t hey can leak and not seal as well as lower temperatures. Never a problem after that. Also u sed ATF for fluid due to higher flash point. I replaced the original leaking Nitrile O-rings in mine with Viton 15 yrs ago and haven't had a problem since.
