Of all the "nice to have tools", band saw is number 1. I bought a 9" Delta table model, $99.00. Can't imagine building a 10 without it. So far this kit is awesome. The experience Van's Aircraft gained from doing all those other kits really shows on this one. I have a band saw and pneumatic rivet squeezer and couldn't imagine doing this without it. Gary & Marianne Jacobs 535 Woodbine Ct. I play the guitar and realized after the first two days of building that I either needed to get an air squeezer or choose between the guitar and the airplane. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis and Stephanie Smith" Subject: Re: RV10-List: RV-10 > --> RV10-List message posted by: "Dennis and Stephanie Smith" > > Gary > I just got my empennage kit last week, so I am a few weeks behind you. > Hopefully I will catch up someday. > I was wondering which pneumatic squeezer you were using and on which parts? > Might be something I should get as well. > Keep up the good work. > Dennis > RV-10 #97 > > > -------Original Message------- > > From: rv10-list@matronics.com > Date: Sunday, November 02, 2003 4:06:48 PM > To: rv10-list@matronics.com > Subject: RV10-List: RV-10 > > --> RV10-List message posted by: "Gary B. Jacobs" Subject: Re: RV10-List: RV-10 --> RV10-List message posted by: "Gary B. Jacobs" I have a 3X rivet gun. I have air outlets all around the table with 90psi and wanted to be able to run the rivet gun at about 40psi and adjust it individually, so I hooked a quick release to a regulator, then to one of Cleaveland Tools' lightweight pressure hoses, then to a volume regulator/swivel, then to the gun. That way I can plug the gun in anywhere without having to worry about whether I reset the pressure. The pressure regulator seems to work well for setting the force of the gun and the volume regulator on the swivel makes it easy for fine adjustments. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan Checkoway" Subject: Re: RV10-List: RV-10 > --> RV10-List message posted by: "Dan Checkoway" > > > Here are a couple of questions I need answered. > > What pressure are you running on your rivet guns? I bought mine on a Sunday afternoon, probably would have paid a $1000 if I had to. I haven't been concerned (yet) about the table being perfectly level. All cuts are deburred and that helps to "straighten" the edges.
