Hi Michael,
Not sure what went wrong with my first reply but welcome to the group.
You will find that (for whatever reason) most of the RV-10 crowd is on
Yahoo Groups at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RV10/
Also, here's a few websites of builders that I've collected.
http://canopyroad.org/rv10/
http://www.myrv10.com/BobThompson/index.html
http://www.rv10project.net/
http://members.cox.net/rvator/
http://www.brinkmeyers.net/AirplaneBuilding.htm
http://www.mcclowsrv10.com/
http://www.etigerrr.com/RV10HomePage.htm
http://www.rv10.org/
http://www.scottandranae.smugmug.com/
http://www.myrv10.com/
All of the above will give you lots of pictures to drool over, the Yahoo
list will provide plenty of reading and also has files & picture areas.
Mike Howe's web site (http://www.etigerrr.com/RV10HomePage.htm) has a
lot of photos of step by step work with associated builder's manual
pages although it hasn't been updated for a while. I admire those that
have built and maintain web sites - I decided early on that I'd spend my
time building instead.
Enjoy!

I'm not sure what all the garble is below, but this is what I tried to
post:
I just joined your group this week and thought I'd introduce myself!
I am a pilot in Greeley, Colorado. Grew up in Algoma, Wisconsin (my dad
went to school at UW Oshkosh), so I've spent a few days at the EAA.
I've always thought it would be fun to build my own plane, but
eventually the conversation in my head ended with, "well, other people
do that, not me".
This summer I've seen quite a few homebuilt planes, which got the juices
flowing again. Then I went to the Rocky Mountain EAA fly in and saw the
plane I think I'd want to build. An RV 10! If I build a plane, I'd
want it to seat 4 (I have two daughters who love spotting planes that
fly by as much as I do!). I'd like to take it back to Wisconsin to
visit family - so I'd want a plane and could handle cross country trips.
It seems like the RV 10 fits all my criteria.
I thinking building my own plane would really help me understand how it
works inside and out. I am a teacher, so I have summers off as well as
weekends and holidays. So I would have chunks of time when I could work
on it.
My friends have mixed reactions of course. From the jaw drops, to
"we're never going to be able to golf again", to "awesome, but is it
safe???". But the one that matters, my wife, loves the plane and is
all for it! She has been supportive of my flying, and she saw the RV 10
also and liked it.
So now comes the fun and hard part. The hard part - start putting money
away and saving for this. The good part is that I'll be able to buy it
in parts, so I can save a little buy a little, etc... The fun part,
digging around for all the information I can find. In the short time I
have been subscribed here, it seems like this is a very active group
with lots of great info.
If anyone has any suggestions, websites to check out, people to talk to,
advice, etc. I'm very willing to learn! But for the most part, I'm
going to keep reading the posts here and learn from those of you who
have built or are building one! Enough of the intro!
