May I recomment Headsets, Inc.? The price is very competitive and the noise
cancellation is superb. They mainly offer retro-fit kits for other
headsets, but they have a version of their own. We are really happy with
ours.

I concur with your advice; I was talking with the IA who performed the
inspections on my C177RG. I took the sample package from B-quiet and
discussed the pros/cons. Your major concern should be whether the
soundproofing/insulation can attract/hold moisture. We also discussed the
advice of the interior repair station on the field. There advice: except for
the insulation on the firewall, the rest just adds weight, costs money and
creates potential for corrosion. Hence I will insulate the firewall interior
and use good noise canceling headsets.

I can second that recommendation. I tried a kit from ANR Headsets or
Headsets Inc, one of those 2...same kits. After trying it, I thought
the actual sound quality was better than my Dad's Lightspeeds. So,
I bought new or barely used Flightcom's and those little Pilot Cadet
headsets for the kids, and I now have 4 pair of headsets all with
ANR. For those who take kids in planes, I can't imagine putting
up with non-ANR headsets for the kids, and for the pilot it makes
listening to ATC much easier. There is just no comparison once you
try ANR. My -10 will have ANR power jacks at every headset location.
They ain't Bose, but they work well.
