Could you share the contact with the rest of us? I for one would appreciate it.

Just for reference , someone posted the above problem and stated that the solution
was a different wheel from Matco. I called them and got an RMA. They exchanged
my unmounted wheel with a more approriate one. Cost was $27.48 including
shipping.

Anybody have any secrets or tips regarding the serial output from a GRT EIS
6000? I'm trying to "snoop" it on my laptop here and I am having no joy.

Does anybody know off hand the minimum spacing for the Transponder to COM
antennas? I have heard that the COM's need to be at least 30 inches apart,
but does the Xpndr just need 36 inches or so from the COM's?
Thanks and do not archive.

From the GTX330 installation manual page 2-2.
C. Avoid mounting the antenna within three feet of the ADF sense
antenna or any other communication antenna and six feet from the
DME antenna.

Generally speaking, you also want the shortest run of cable possible between the
transponder and antenna. This usually results in the Transponder antenna right
below the panel and com/nav antennas in the aft fuselage which works out.

Those are microwaves! The aircraft skin is probably enough shielding but I'll
move mine a bit further forward in the tunnel between the exhaust and away from
passenger butts.

These "New" AeroTrak-L4 seats look remarkable similar to the "famous" RV-10 seats.

I see they now also offer the 3-point air bag seat belts. They are $4,400 a pair
but I will try to find a way to work these in.

I am going for the transponder on the belly as far forward as I can in the
tunnel, then the COM's under the pilot and co-pilot seats. I haven't
measured yet, but that would be great if the distance is long enough. I am
just going to have to deal with the trouble of getting around the other
stuff there, and make sure to stay away from the controls.

Subject: | Wires in the tunnel |
The antenna spacing thread got me thinking about wiring again. I know
people are concerned (rightfully so) about running wires in the tunnel in an
effort to avoid any potential conflict with the controls. I was wondering
though, if you tied the wiring to the heater hose it would keep it all safe
and secure, well away from the controls. Any snags with this train of
though?
Thanks,
Marcus
