I asked him what they use to seal up the engine and baffle and he said to use clear silicon. I wrote down the name but was basically off the shelf silicon from Home Depot. He said he has been using it for years on all the new Lancair's that go out there door with no problems. He also said that when you do your baffling make sure the aluminum is stress free. If you have to force it to a shape or it bends when you attach it with screws it WILL crack and you will be replacing it. In general, the "sensor safe" ones should have no effect for you. The regular ones can be corrosive to aluminum. I did call permatex though and ask them about the corrosive effects and they told me that once its cured it would be no problem. I used the Van's recommended 26B red on some baffle parts....no problem, and that's not the sensor safe stuff....it's actually my favorite. On this hole I used clear, which I'm sure is acid based, but not only was I applying it on a painted area, but even if it wasn't painted, I really don't think there's much to worry about in most applications. Take some and squirt it on some scrap and look at it a month later. You'll see what I mean. I'm sure it would look the same years later too, if it cured well.
