I have recently exchanged my wheel - I passed the tip
onto John Dunne and originally got it from Dave
McNeill - thanks very much Dave.
What you need to do is contact Matco, easiest way is
to e-mail tech@matcomfg.com and explain what you want.
The replacement wheel is the WHLNW511.25, the
difference is that hub is machined for the longer stem
of the inner tube we use. I dealt with George Happ
who was most professional.
They will advise you of your costs and options
available. The wheel has to be in absolutely brand
new condition for the simple exchange. They apply a
handling charge to make the swap as well as charging
return postage. My costs were in Ozzie Dollars and
therefore not applicable to most.
They will supply you with a RMA which must be
exhibited on the return parcel. Again, I can't comment
on timescales as I'm on the other side of the world!

Hi Tim,
I talked to Gus at Van's yesterday about this issue and since I also
have the steel sleeves he will be sending me out the aluminum ones. But
I did ask him about the tightness issue and he told me I should tighten
the bolt to about 160 to 190 " lbs and the wheel and if I try and turn
it by hand it will be a little hard to turn and shouldn't spin freely.

S/N 40286 has been approved to fly as of 1200 today. The experience was
great and the DAR was great to work with. He was very thorough and
fortunately had nothing mechanical to speak of, just recommended I tidy up
the wiring behind the panel some. Nothing to keep me from flying right then
and there (aside from the fact all the inspection panels were removed)!
However, I'm going to hold off until next Saturday to fly to get all the
panels back on and give my Dad a chance to fly down and be part of the
festivities.
For anyone interested, I opted for the following equipment:
Aerosport IO-540-D4A5 with Lightspeed ignition and one Magneto
Grand Rapids dual EFIS and EIS
Dynon EFIS (as my backup)
Garmin 430 audio, 480 GPS Nav/Comm, SL-30 Nav/Comm and 327 Xpdr
DVD player with popout/swivel screen (from eBay, don't ya love
homebuilts)
I'll post pictures of the airplane and panel with my "first flight" message.

Congrats Marcus, what a great accomplishment. Sharing with your dad
will make a special moment for a lifetime.
Yesterday we had a memorial service for David Lewis, Sr. who with his
son Dave held the record for the largest number of RVs constructed. 37.
Yes, there have been renegades before John Nys and Jesse. Dick was
there for just a few minutes out of respect but he is staunchly strong
on protecting the 51% rule and left before all the stories of their
career adventures. You may get to see Mr. Lewis's biggest achievement
which is a one of a kind Fairchild at OSH '07.
You are the reason. What a great product. Fly safe - live long.

Anybody bought that kit? besides the hose what else is in it? I am using
the GRT EIS as the engine monitor and the tube to their MAP transducer
is about .125" ID. I have not been able to find a connector between the
AN807 bulkhead adaptor which is set up for .25" ID.

That's what the kit has. The hose, and a special bulkhead adapter set
for small tubing.
