I know I'm replying late to this, still catching up on email from vacation. First I drilled the holes for the screws, installed the screws with nuts on the inside and mold release on the screw threads. Then I poured a small amount of epoxy into the end of the tip for a buildup and more structure around the strobe light housing, then drilled it out to size with the unibit. Very solid result (not tested yet!), and no, these aren't the final pics of the tip. Once set up you can drill and tap it. That's what I ended up doing.
