The list has been unusually quiet this past week or so. Where is everybody? I myself have been quieter than normal, as I'm trapped in fiberglass hell once more and the itching and twitching isn't compatible w/ typing ;-) . So what's everybody up too? Have all of you guys finished and are too busy flying? Who has the latest modification that they want to share? Who's getting close to flying? Dean?? What about Sun N' Fun We should get a list of things that people would like information on for those of us that aren't able to attend. Other than the new GRT screens and features what else is on everybody's mind? Deems Davis # 406 Finishing - ( A Misnomer ! ) http://deemsrv10.com/

Income tax he!!. Not that they were difficult to complete, it is just writing the check will be painful. Those also going to Sun-N-Fun there is a discount coupon on Aircraft Spruces web site, along with free shipping on orders placed at SNF. It will be interesting stopping by the Chelton display. Taxes and SnF, That's it. Building an airplane keeps you busy. It's the other stuff that gets in the way. I look forward to meeting some other builders at SnF 10AM at Van's sounds good. I have a long list of items to consider and information to gather, I am sure it will be a couple interesting days. I've been busy redesigning the rudder pedal controls. I hope to have the system complete in early May. That could be done without too much trouble, probably. I could talk to the machinist and design a base. The single visor will cover both sides, just not both at the same time, so whoever is flying can use it. How many would be interested in this setup? I have 20 people now who want the visor, so that gets into a half-decent price for the base. Doing a double base would probably take the kit with two visors to about $350 or so. Aileron trim, I'd say. Make sure your flaps and ailerons are rigged evenly, because that can make it want to roll one way or the other, but burning fuel out of the left first would lighten that side. I doubt there is much more weight there, just having you sit on that side alone makes a little difference. Again, aileron trim and rudder trim will make the thing fly like it needs to no matter how you are loaded, for the most part. Do not archive. RV-10 C-FXCS took to the air on Thurs Apr 5 with Colin Jordan at the controls. He flew for one hour high power for break-in. The aircraft has a heavy left wing, an oil leak on the pilot side, and I managed to reverse the action on the aileron trim and the altitude hold. Colin said when he landed that this was as close to taking off in a jet as you can get without being in a jet. He was VERY impressed with the aircraft. I delayed leaving on a weeks holidays so we could get the first flight in, so I haven't addressed any of the issues as yet. Question. What is the procedure to correct a heavy wing in an RV-10? I just wrote a check for a zero time RV-10 with Garmin 900X including a back up dual Chelton system, air conditioning, full leather interior, Sam James cowl and wheel pants plus an amazing 5 color paint job! Unfortunately the check was to the federal government and the state of California. Darn..... Looking forward to my very first Sun-N-Fun. Time to make some electronics decisions. Deems I hope to show you personally, if you have a chance to visit PDX. I scrapped the Van's system and replaced it with a tube over tube design, clean and symmetrical. The pedals will be die-cast alloy split rudder and brake pads. Cables will connect in the center of the tunnel. The goals were design and appearance, function, reduced weight, and adjustability. I can hit some of the targets and passed on others. I'm having fun with it and I think the set-up will look neat. I think John Cox has hit a shy streak. Not, I heard he is in Canada for Rotax engine training. Maybe he is planning to put a 300HP Rotax on his TEN. Gotta' go catch a plane. I have been doing inventory and organizing parts on my QB wings, fuse and finish kit and have been doing stuff with the kids during SB. Just about to store the tailcone and start on the wings. I have decided not to install a stall warning and rather AOA. What is the choice of AOA system for everyone. I am leaning towards a G900X panel which does not integrate AOA yet. From: "McGANN, Ron" <ron.mcgann@baesystems.com>
With all the tax prep being done, hopefully someone can help me with a simple question. Section 4.2.2.2 of the GNS430 installation manual refers to Lighting Bus Hi and Lighting Bus Lo connections on P4001. Section 5.2.6 defines the lighting config pages but does not dicsriminate between the Hi and Lo buses. Assuming the Hi bus is connected to a 14V dimmer cct, what is Lighting Bus Lo used for? cheers, Ron 187 finishing
