Subject: OSH Camping and RV-10 gathering
We're coming up on the last call for campsites pretty quickly. We've got 16 sites being held all for specific individuals who've actually contacted Bob with their request. 16 sites is a pretty good sized area, but we'd be happy to rope off a couple more if there are more people who want to camp in that area. The info is all on the builders list page on how to sign up, but email Bob Condrey if you have questions. Here is the current reservation chart: http://www.myrv10.com/osh/OSH_2007_RV10HQ.jpg For those who will be flying your RV-10 to OSH, please, if you do just one thing this year, FLY SAFE, and also READ and PRINT and CARRY the NOTAM. Be Prepared. We don't want the first RV-10 crash to be at OSH, that's for sure. Here is a copy of the notam: http://www.myrv10.com/files/FAA_docs/OSHnotam07.pdf Now, for something I'd consider REQUIRED READING, you want to check out this article that should whip you into shape attitude wise before flying in. You'd be a fool not to heed the warning. http://www.avweb.com/news/pilotlounge/182691-1.html On the builders list page I have added info for use for helping you around the show, much of it straight from the EAA site. The OSH 2007 Planning guide, among others. http://www.myrv10.com/osh/07planning_guide.pdf Also there are grounds maps, and maps to our area in scholler, which will be updated after the 17th when Bob is on site. It's looking like it's going to be a great year for gatherings, with lots of people showing up at the show, and a bunch going to Van's banquet and the BBQ. For those who are staying there and have young kids, I'm sure if you're camping we'll be able to coordinate some good times where the kids can all hang out. I myself have decided that this year I'm going to take it one step up off the ground and I picked up a small camper for the show, so I'm kind of pumped about the whole camping thing. As for fly-in arrivals, if there is anyone planning to go early on Sunday, I could find a way to meet up with you and fly in at the same time. My home airport (KLUM) has fuel for $3.75/gal, which in this area is very good. It's a 1 hr leg from there to OSH, so it makes a great last fuel stop that gives you just enough time to re-read the NOTAM on the first half of the flight over, and from there on in you need to be on the ball big time. Also, if you're flying your RV-10 in, please let me know and I'll put it on the list where it will be parked (HBP or HBC). That way people will know where to go see it. There are lots of excited RV-10 builders out there wanting to eyeball all the finished planes. Again though, if you're planning on camping in the RV-10 common area, shoot Bob your request right away. It will save you lots of walking and you'll find it very convenient. -- Tim Olson - RV-10 N104CD - Flying do not archive

Ben Moyle mentioned in the article was flying a Glasair III. He and I went to lots of airshows together with our III's. I don't know about his, but mine stalled at 95mph when loaded. I went around several times at OSH because someone felt he needed to show how slow his plane could fly. As they say, fly the plane, fly the plane! Anyone heard from Rivethead Aero in the form of a delivery or contact? I place an order 3 weeks ago, followed up this week with an email and a phone call, mail box full on answering machine....check returned, address no good. Laughs on me, I ordered them online with Paypal so some recourse if it's gone bad which I don't think it has. A post by Matt Burch on Vansairforce today asked the same thing, I know a -10 builder on the list is related somehow. Bueller? Bueller? Rick S. 40185

I got my parts from them a week ago I think. From the time I placed the order to the time I got it was about 3 weeks. I think stuff gets made in batches, and goes out when ready. I wouldn't worry about "recourse"... I've ordered a bunch from him, and it always shows up - just make sure to place the order long before you need the part! cj #40410 fuse/finishing www.perfectlygoodairplane.net do not archive -----Original Message----- From: owner-rv10-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-rv10-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Rick Sent: Tuesday, July 10, 2007 9:11 AM Subject: RV10-List: Rivethead Aero, are you out there? Thanks CJ, I wasn't worried, I saw the post on Vansairforce and figured I ask out loud on the list for peace of mind mainly and to dispell rumors that always start once the "are they in business" posts start. Rick S. 40185 do not archive

Can someone tell me the thickness of the flange on the AEX Tiedown extrusion? That is, I'm looking for the thickness of the flange that the bolts go thru. This same part is used on the tail and wing tiedowns I'm trying to determine the bolt size to use on one of the aileron brackets with a cushion clamp added. Thanks in advance. Bob, I will be driving to Osh and camping I should arrive on Wed (25 and stay till Sat morning. I will be driving and sleeping in a van. I would like to either reserve a campsite or just park in an existing space. I will pay for the use of the site. Let me know if I need to send you some money or what ever arrangement you want. Thanks, Jim Combs (40192) =========================================================== From: "Condrey, Bob (US SSA)" <bob.condrey@baesystems.com> Subject: RV10-List: OSH Camping Logistics For those that are reserving sites at RV-10 HQ in Camp Scholler, I will send out an email to everybody probably late in the day on Tuesday 7/17 with contact cell phone numbers for Tim, Gary and I along with a map to the location. Game plan is that you should call one of us when about 20-30 minutes out and one of us will meet you at the Camp Scholler entrance with your campsite credentials and car pass. Obviously we won't know the exact location before Tuesday AM, but if you have any other questions feel free to contact me before then. *** Begin Advertisement *** Current count is up to 16 sites. Time is getting short if you want to reserve a site of your own! I have sent a confirmation email to all that I've received a check from - if you haven't received an email, I haven't received your check. I can also accept PayPal using my email address for the account. *** End Advertisement *** Bob #40105 ===========================================================

That's really too bad. I got the trim cable mounts a while back but I don't recall how long it took. I'll say it again for any of you vendors lurking, fastest way to make or kill your business in aviation is word of mouth. Not responding to potential customers, or worse current customers, will do more damage than anything else in the Internet age let alone in hanger talk. You want to run a business, act like you actually give a crap about your customers and you will never have to worry about bad press taking a foothold. Zack, I believe Dave is your nephew or something like that. He makes some nice stuff but you might want to say something to him before this slides anymore. Same experience here. Took a long time. Little response in the interim. But it all came in and met expectations... except for timeliness and responsiveness. But that includes cost and quality. I'll do it again as long as I have the lead time. Richard Sipp wrote: > > I recieved RV10 door parts in about a month.
