I can't remember who, but someone told me at OSH that they have replaced the Nippondenso 60A (ES ALTERNATOR 60A KIT) with the Plane Power 60 (ES ALTERNATOR DELUXE) in the Firewall Forward kits. I elected to upgrade to the PP unit for the additional $100. Can anyone receiving the Firewall Forward Kit recently confirm this? May work just fine. =0A =0AI used B&C right from the start. My starter is stock but if it every goes ou t I will replace with B&C. They really do a great job and are easy to work with. =0A =0AWe won't be coming to the homecoming either this weekend. W e tried to fit it in and would love to see the Spruce Goose just down the r oad. This weekend I will be rotating tires, replacing brake pads and repla cing my wing strobes (they both went out and I cannot figure it out). Hope you all have a great time. =0A =0AScott Schmidt=0Ascottmschmidt@yahoo.com =0A=0A=0A=0A----- Original Message ----=0AFrom: "GenGrumpy@aol.com" =0ATo: rv10-list@matronics.com=0ASent: Thursday, August 16, 20 07 6:50:54 PM=0ASubject: Re: RV10-List: Seeking good and bad experiences wi th Plane Power, B&C alterna...=0A=0A=0AI can speak for Van's standard alter nator in the kit - it stinks.=0A =0AI've had noise in it since day one, can 't eliminate it with filters, it got worse a couple of flights ago, so now I should have a B&C on the door step tomorrow.=0A =0AMy secondary alternato r is also a B&C, and it has worked beautifully (with NO noise whatsoever). =0A =0AI talked at length with B&C about theirs, their longevity and, with help from my panel builder, I'm switching.=0A =0AAnyone want a 60amp standa rd Van's alternator cheap??=0A =0Agrumpy=0AN184JM=0A =0Ado not archive=0A =0AIn a message dated 8/16/2007 7:29:33 PM Central Standard Time, Tim_Lewis s@msm.umr.edu>=0A=0AI'm thinking of buying either a 60 Amp alternator made by either Plane =0APower ($375 including internal regulator and OV from Van 's) or B&C =0A($595 + $228 for regulator & OV = $823) for my RV-10. Total reliability for 8 years and 860 flight hours so far. My RV-10 will have the same equipment. - Dan Benua #40001 "Finishing....." > I'm thinking of buying either a 60 Amp alternator made by either Plane > Power ($375 including internal regulator and OV from Van's) or B&C > ($595 + $228 for regulator & OV = $823) for my RV-10.
