Subject: Inside Oshkosh PBS TV Special
I'm unhappy today... Turns out our local PBS stations aren't carrying the special "Inside Oshkosh" Friday the 22nd at 8pm CST. This is just to remind you all that the show is on, so at least some of you get to enjoy it. It's also a request... If any of you are geeks like me who do things like record HDTV to a PC, and then reprocess it to .Xvid format .AVI's, or heck, even just record it as a MPG file, perhaps you wouldn't mind crunching me a copy. It'll be playing in HD, which will make it all the more cool. As an aside, I've been having a blast with this whole HDTV and HTPC stuff. As a warning to people looking at buying nice large HDTV flat panels, it doesn't just stop at buying the TV...there is a lot more that you'll want to do after that, and it can add up slowly. Fortunately I've found some very cool ways to record and play back HD Television shows, so we're now operating "VCR Free" most of the time. (I'm a non-cable subscriber, too.) Anyway, thanks, and enjoy the show for me. -- Tim Olson - RV-10 N104CD - Flying do not archive

Yesterday I moved the plane to the hanger for final assembly. The trailer is now available for anyone in the SE US to move their plane if there is anyone interested. Gary 40274

Gary, this is a really useful post. Thank you! Would you kindly elaborate a bit? How did you get the plane onto the tailer? Is there a channel that the nosewheel ran in? Is there some way those who are especially interested could get a look at the wheel mountings in a little higher resolution (like email)? Hehe. I'm a nerdy guy who's also very much into codec flavors and buying and renting movies with a remote click. I'll try to help you out. I'm way into the new AppleTv box, but I have a couple PCs and a Tivo3 (HD) as well. Man, I really love not having to put a shiny disc into a box to watch a movie. cj (nerd) -----Original Message----- From: owner-rv10-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-rv10-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Tim Olson Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2008 6:20 AM Subject: RV10-List: Inside Oshkosh PBS TV Special I'm unhappy today... Gary, What is the scoop on the front air filter/scoop. That's a mod I have not seen before. I am using an SJ cowl so I looks totally different than mine. BTW you should probably check to make sure the N number is large enough for the FAA. You are almost in the air! Robin

The trailer is a tilt bed. I tilt the trailer to load the nose wheel into a channel like for motorcyles. Then untilt it and pull the mains up on ramps into the wheel pads with the boat winch. The ramps come with the trailer is anyone is interested. I have very high rez pix for those who are interested. Hey wait ! I resemble that remark! :-D Funny thing, I've been on the phone and e-mail for the last couple of days with people who are working on 2 mods that I think every RV-10 builder will want. (I know I want them) Both of the designer/builders monitor this forum, but are a little shy about throwing their creations open to the scrutiny of this expert group. (They figured I was an easy and low risk mark :-P ). Actually I'm hoping that this e-mail might put some additional pressure on them :-X . And sniff them out. *_I PROMISE_* these will be the last two mods I make before the plane flies ! (I've got one more that's in the works, but that one is Major and will remain 'cloaked' until it's ready ) ---- don't you just LOVE the drama !!!!!! Gary, your bird looks terrific, I'm counting on you to shake out the OP systems.
