Subject: | Re: How many kits sold thus far? |
Let me ask this question, If I buy the kit, engine, panel and everything else that
goes into finishing an aircraft with my money and name on everything and when
its all done I put it up for sale, how does that differ from anyone else selling
their aircraft. I have contacted the FAA and explained my process and they
said I'm within the guide lines.
Now as far as meaningful post goes if I see something wrong or a question on either
here or VAF that does not get an answer or the answer is wrong I email them
the correct way and also give them my number. I really try not to compete
with other poster's on the site's. Each site has their main poster's and I'm trying
not to be one of them because they get a bad rap as a self proclaimed know
it all. Yes, its true that I have built many planes and I have used every EFIS
screen avaible and five different well known engine shops, three interior
shops, four paint shops. With that being said I do what works and is the best
bang for your buck, also which companies to stay away from, who delivers what
they promise when they promise it. But each person has their own ideas and tastes
and I respect that so I try and leave my comments to myself. If anyone has
a question about anything with their aircraft feel free to call me 256-443-1915.

VansAirforce.net has a fairly recent thread regarding a jammed elevator
(!!!) traced to a Tru Trak servo arm jam. Frightening! The thread is
at <http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=36393>.

Tim,
Yes, I pulled a few all nighters. Where are you going in Florida?
Mary is down there right now working on our house remodel project. If
you are in the New Smyrna Beach area (between Daytona and the Cape)
give her a call. 651-428-5358. New Smyrna has a nice airport with a
great airport restaurant.
Sure wish I was heading down there today!

That's awesome, you must have been working pretty hard

If any 10 flyers reach Phoenix area , the price of 100LL just reached $2.90
at Casa Grande. Of course some of our airports are still living in yester
world at $5+.

Ok, seeing how you and the FAA feel everything is just hunky dory with your venture
(even though for some reason they are trying to redefine the rule rather
than enforce it for once) exactly how many aircraft have you built in say the
last 5 years? How long did it take you to finish the last one? How long will
it take you to finish the current one?
Somehow I have a feeling these answers will give clarity to whether you are doing
it for your own recreation and education and put any assumed perceptions
to rest. I think quantity over time, along with intent, is generally the deciding
factor on if you are different from anyone else.

Paid $2.99 at Crossville, TN today, and $2.84 at Leesburg FL.
Brings back memories of yesteryear. Made the trip much
cheaper!

We are looking for a wall chart to put in our new pilot's lounge here at
Yuma. In the past we have stitched together the 3 JNC charts (scale
1:2,000,000) and they work well but it's a little bit of work to make it
look nice. Does anyone know of a 1 piece wall chart at least that same scale
or even slightly larger? The VFR/IFR Planning charts are much smaller (scale
1:3,400,000) and not what we want. Many FBO's have large wall charts but
maybe they are all stitched together JNC's for all I know.
