If you look at the procedures on www.inertialbelts.com, you will need to
create the four hardpoints each belt from the outside of the lid. We used a
cutter inside to cut the inner glass and remove the foam; then we reinforced
the lid with additional layers of glass. This would have to be accomplished
from the outside. If you wish to discuss how to do this, give me a call
480-626-4048. Obviously this will create some need for re paint if the paint
is already on the aircraft.

Hooker Harness makes an inertial real that mounts with a single bolt, it
does require a bushing to adapt to Van's bolt/screw, but they can supply:

You will probably have to send in your existing belts to have the reels put on
if the original manufacturer offers them. That's assuming there is enough slack
to use reels. If you have Hooker belts right now the easiest thing to do
would be to order the same belts again but with the reels this time and then
sell your existing belts.

Actually if you print it, It is much easier to read.
I have it
sized to fit on two sheets. The first sheet is the interfaces to the
EFIS, NAVCOM, Transponder and Audio panel. The second sheet is
pretty much all the audio to the headset connectors.

After I added some interior to the cabin doors they would constantly fall down.
I found an replacement for the gas strut that Van's supplies that has 600 newtons
force instead of the 500 newtons force with the van's strut. They were more
expensive but it was worth it not to be hit in the head by the doors. They
are Lift-o-Mat 2218LP made by Stabilus. I found them at JWF Technologies, 6820

Ron,
I had the same problem with my door struts. I found the company Vans used for
their struts -- Dean Lewis assoc. I had them special order a stronger set for
me. I think they are 600 newtons. I had to pay $75.00. They should be in
by the end of the month. I am curious what you had to pay for the struts you
got.

I received a couple of emails about the inertial belts so I took some
pictures.
(1) the rollers have covers that snap on and could be painted.
(2) I have two small children so created a velcro loop that will catch them
across the chest and prevent upper body from coming forward between the
belts.
(3) One picture show the external SS screw pattern and CS SS washers that
spread the load on the belts. The consulting ME (a neighbor) indicates that
the additional hardpoints and CS washers should be 8-10 times as strong as
the Vans (single CS #5 screw without CS washer) in a crash.
(4) there are a couple of shots that show the buckle options. If it looks
like the Boeing stuff ; it is. AMSAFE has that contract.

Hi Guys,
I found this forum on the net today which mentioned me buying this RV-10, which
by the way never happened.
What happened is I was looking at it and back paged and there was a glitch and
it ended up doing a BIN. I worked it out with the seller and all was resolved.
So put it to rest that nobody bought the plane for $100K with a V-8 engine in it,
and I hope no one was that silly to try it.

Subject: | 3M flap anti chafe tape |
I was given some of the above from a friend, and intend to apply it to
the underside of the wing trailing edge to protect the paint on the
flaps. My question is:
Just how sticky is the adhesive supposed to be? I've got and followed
the printed instruction from 3M on a 'wet' application, and applied a
10" test piece tonight and will check it in the morning, But to my mind
this stuff peels off too easily.
For those of you that have applied this, is this something that you
should be able to peel off without a lot of force, or is this something
that should stick like the foam double sided tape?

I have never applied it wet, but it should stick like foam tape does.
