It is very close fit. just trim a bit. I put a 426-3 flush rivet in he front to get the position correct. then pro sealed it in to its final position. I also figure that you do not want the bottom too low or you might get some water accumulation there. Also be sure to sand it a bit before installing to get it ready for painting later. -------- OSH '08 or Bust (busted) be there in "09 Q/B Kit - wiring and FWF Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=226537#226537

Subject: MT Prop Governor Installation - advice
From: "AirMike" <Mikeabel@Pacbell.net>
I went to install my prop governor on my Mattituck Red-Gold engine yesterday and had a few issues come up. I just want other assembly neophytes to be aware of a few things. 1. The plans call for an MT #P420-17 unit. With the FWF kit - Vans supplies the MT #P860-3 unit which apparently replaces the other unit. I called Vans and they confirmed that I indeed got the correct one. 2. Mattituck supplies you with 4 genuine Lycoming studs to mount the prop governor to the engine. The number is STUD-3126-18 x 1.75". The problem is that the threads are easy to put into the engine on one side and hard on the other. A call to Mahlon Russel at Mattituck set me right. You need to put two nuts tight on the easy side and crank the hard side threads into the stud holes on the engine. Set them carefully as you must have 1.25" exposed for the prop governor. This will alow you to torque the nuts down without the studs rotating. 3. You need to have a very thin wall socket (plus extension)to crank down the proper torque on the prop governor nuts. 4. There are some prior posts on this site to adjust the prop governor. -------- OSH '08 or Bust (busted) be there in "09 Q/B Kit - wiring and FWF Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=226541#226541

I am in the process of obtaining an RV10 quick-build kit the previous owner has lost interest. Tony Partain is scheduling to deliver next month. Just wanted to introduce myself as I will probably be active here obtaining good info from all of you. I previously built a slow build 6 completed in '04 and have about 300 hours with a most recent trip from Michigan to the Florida Keys, Marathon in particular, was a great fishing trip and great flying. Along the past few years our flying mission has changed, my wife has decided she would like to participate in the trips my 11 year old son and I have been doing, fly-ins etc, plus other reasons for obtaining a 4 place airplane. She would also like a new kitchen. We kid each other about it but she has put up with a lot while I was building the 6 and I'm glad she says she would be involved in this project (as long as she gets her kitchen). I've been checking out many sites I can find regarding 10 projects and the more I look the! more questions I've been coming up with, but will just keep reading as I know some of the questions get answered about the time I start typing so will save some for later. For now keep up the good work, look forward to meeting all and seeing some the 10's here someday. Dave Ford RV6 flying RV10 qb kit on its way Lake City, MI

Dave, Welcome to the list. After finishing the empennage kit I had a 3 months wait for the next kit, so I used the time to build my wife her dream kitchen. It turned out to be one of the best moves I ever made. She has never complained about the time and money I have put in the 10. Of course she also thinks the 10 costs about the same as her kitchen...not. A happy wife is a happy life. Is there a link between the RV10 and Kitchens?- I completely remodeled th e master bath prior to starting the project.--Then, right before Osh, s tarted on a COMPLETE remodel of the kitchen.- Two walls removed, which do ubled the size, granite instead of the 70's yellow tile, etc.... but for me too, it was the best thing for the project.- Don McDonald --- On Sat, 1/24/09, Jim Berry <jimberry@qwest.net> wrote: From: Jim Berry <jimberry@qwest.net> Subject: RV10-List: Re: hello all <jimberry@qwest.net> Dave, Welcome to the list.
