I didn't realize that there were that many Mac users on the list. There
literally were dozens of folks that offered to assist. We were able to
isolate the issue and confirmed it was localized to a single Mac.

Thanks to all the volunteered to assist!

I need to find a couple folks to test a new RV-10 related site. We've come
across an issue and need to validate whether or not it's a common Mac issue
or localized to one user. If you have a Mac, want to get a sneak peak,
and help us identify this issue, please email me off list.

      Thanks,

      Tim,
As always a great write-up, THANKS. Also a good slide show to support
the info. I'll be going up today to see what EGT I get at takeoff.

For those who are interested in running LOP and who want to
get better injector tuning to make their engine run smooth
when Lean of Peak, I wrote up my recent experience in tuning
the injectors. It was cheap, and very very easy.

There will be a future update to the write-up, as I'm working
on a project on another engine, but the info here should give
you what you need to get started tweaking your own system.
It's so simple that there's no reason not to get your engine
      set up for great operation.

I did something similar. The stock adhesive backing is notorious for letting
go over time on zip tie pads so I pulled the backing off of regular hardware
store pads and used Goop to secure them instead. As long as both surfaces are
clean, I wouldn't expect them to come off very easily.

I forgot to mention one item that made my wiring much neater and easier to manage.
That product is "Click Bond" - the small zip tie attach points are an awesome
product. I spent about $100 on the very pricy attach points - worth every
cent. If they are good enough for Boeing and Northrop - they are good enuf for
      me.

I had many, especially on the rougher primed surfaces, that
let go with the standard double-sided tape. Whenever I find
one that did, and on any new ones, I've been using E6000 glue
(Walmart and everywhere has it), which is something I first
heard about on the Aeroelectric list. It's basically the same
as goop, but I think it may set a little firmer. It's pretty
darn tough stuff...and I've used it for installing my NACA
vents, and my rudder trim fairing, and things like that. It's
plenty tough for holding zip-tie pads on and supporting wire
bundles, and it's cheap at probably under $3 a tube.

Cool, will be nice to hear how it goes for you when you tune your
injectors. There's a side conversation that I've been having
with some people regarding LOP and planes that just can't
seem to run that way. We're learning a little, and I'm sure
we'll report back fairly soon. But, if you have an engine
that you just can't get to run LOP, you may want to drop
me a line. We've found something that looks to be specific
to the James Cowl users that can cause some issues. We're
      still learning though.

which James cowl? The regular one or the one for cold air induction? they're slightly
      different..

just helped my buddy go through the hoops of getting the injectors tuned, and results
seem to be good.. this is on a -10 /w James cowl + BPE cold air engine..
      (2 mags... for now)

      Phil,
These holes are too big to enlarge and in an awkward location. Use what is there:
get a good fitting rubber grommet to protect the wires then start filling
them up. If you run out of space, drill another hole. Don't sweat it at this
point. Everyone's distribution will be somewhat different so don't try to copy
      exactly.

      Phil,

I asked Van's about enlarging the side holes, and they said up to 1" would be OK.
I used a Greenlee punch from the electrical dept. of Home Depot.
