I was reviewing some items on the Van's part list this morning. I discovered two door struts on the list. The first is the standard C-1016 for $39 and the second is a C-1016 HD 600N Heavy Door Strut. Does anyone have any information on this second strut? Thanks, Bob

More info on using Van's conduit. This is extracted from the routing wires in the wings FAQ: "This hole may be up to 3/4 diameter to accommodate our wiring conduit (DUCT NT 5/8-50).... . The conduit is light and flexible. Its .810 outside diameter means that when snapped into place, the corrugations hold it from slipping out. If using the conduit, a dab of fuel tank sealant or RTV should be put on the conduit at each rib to prevent the conduit from being cut through over time from vibrations." Whatever method you decide to go with don't forget to add a pull string. -------- Todd Stovall 728TT (reserved) RV-10 Empacone, Wings Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=272942#272942

This is what I am doing this weekend. (chapter 33-5). I visited Lowe's electrical section and purchased 100ft of flexible PVC 3/4" diameter.contractor conduit for $31.00. It's light weight and UL listed. And I tried to light the stuff with a BIC lighter to test it resistance to fire. As soon as I removed the flame the fire went out. test passed. The picture is only partly completed I have to add A-dell clamps on each of the conduits. Any of the electronic/electrical supply houses will sell flexible conduit by the foot. I got mine from Anixter. I ran the standard Van=99s .75=9D to the comm antenna under the rear seats, then one .75=9D and a 1.25=9D on each side to the tailcone. I used adel clamps to secure the conduit. If you need to get a pull-string through the conduit, tie a small piece of cloth to the end and stick it in the conduit. Put your shop vac on the other end of the conduit and turn it on to suck the string through the conduit. Really works well. I've seen pull-strings with a tag on the end ..... for each wire that's going into the conduit. If you plan well, you can pull a couple of wires at a time, and do the shop vac thingy for the wires you forgot. Linn tsts4 wrote: > > More info on using Van's conduit. Subject: Rudder etc
Hi all A couple of questions 1) Where do I find torque values for the #6 structural screws that I have used to attach the rudder stops to the lower rudder hinge? 2) I have just started the rudder and will be adding electric rudder trim. Before I make some serious cuts in the rudder skin I want to do some research into how the rudder is balanced, and thus make a few calculations. Where are the instructions about how the rudder is balanced? I only have the empanage kit home at present and I can't find anything regarding balancing. 3) When I rivetted the lower rudder hinge onto the VS rear spar it seems the rivets called out by Vans are a bit short. Did anyone else run into this? Also it seems some rivets are also too long. If the shop head is the proper diameter, does it matter if it's a little bit thicker? Sorry for the neophyte type questions but I gotta get this right. Thx, Rick #40956 Southampton, Ont
