I just looked on their web-site and couldn't find it. My memory of the graph is that the SD-20 doesn't produce it's full 20 am output until it's turning near max RPM's. My SD-20 Low Voltage light is lit when the engine is at idle. I have a check list item on my run-up to check that it extinguishes when I go through my run up. > > Deems Davis > N519PJ > www.deemsrv10.com > > On 6/16/2010 6:09 PM, Aaron Gleixner wrote: >> >> I just got my plane flying, and thought I had a problem with my B&C SD-20. It did not appear to work at all (voltage at battery voltage when turned on during ground runs). Rather than trouble shoot the backup alternator, I decided to "fix" after first flight. Once I got the plane flying and running at higher RPM, it worked fine. >> >> Aaron >> >> From: Don McDonald >> To: rv10-list@matronics.com >> Sent: Wed, June 16, 2010 8:12:34 PM >> Subject: Re: RV10-List: SD-20 alternator >> >> Although my B&C 60amp alternator seems to work fine at lower rpm settings, the 20 seems to need more revs to offset the load and show a positive current. >> My experience, Don McDonald >> >> --- On Wed, 6/16/10, Dawson-Townsend,Timothy wrote: >> >> From: Dawson-Townsend,Timothy >> Subject: RV10-List: SD-20 alternator >> To: rv10-list@matronics.com >> Date: Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 4:16 PM >> >> Anyone using a B&C SD-20 alternator on the vacuum pad? Any deviation from the original locations would change the required lengths slightly. I've also heard mentioned that engine sump dimensions vary widely. The take away here for those yet to come is to measure for your particular setup before ordering the FWF or throttle quadrant. Thanks everyone that responded to this thread.
