I would agree but I can see a passenger sweating bullets in a long taxi line finally
yanking it open for air, with the apology that they will make sure it's
closed before takeoff....

Anyone got an idea what the ambient temps are like on the engine side of
the firewall? Obviously there's a range, but what might that range be?
Maybe eventually I'll hang a temperature probe out there and see what it
says . ..

N52KS is now an airplane after its inspection yesterday!
Not too many squawks except not enough threads showing through on a couple
of non-structural bolts, and the fact that the engraver added an extra zero
in our serial number on the data plate! (We were allowed to obliterate the
extra zero with the Dremel so now the data plate is correct, if somewhat
ugly.)

I can see someone opening it up after you closed it and went into the hangar to
get something you forgot. They are thinking how hard can it be to close? I would
rather have a door that others can close . I will still close the door for
my passengers but if they mistakenly were the last ones to close the door I would
expect it to be close.

This Saturday is the monthly EAA 21 Club Fly-In Lunch. We will be
preparing Hamburgers, Brats and Hot Dogs for all that fly-in. Just as
New York's 21 Club has become known as the HAPPENING PLACE to be and be
seen, EAA 21 Club is the place to be on the first Saturday (with a
couple of exceptions THIS MONTH BEING ONE) each month.
