Humphreys" Does anyone have an inventory list for the wing kit that they would be willing to share with me? I have purchased a wing kit from another builder, and would like to get an idea of the part counts, etc before I go to pick up the wings. Thanks in advance. ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 04:30:03 PM PST US Subject: Re: RV10-List: Wing Kit Inventory From: Kelly McMullen Available in various forms at http://www.myrv10.com/tips/kits/index.html On Sun, Aug 8, 2010 at 4:11 PM, Brent P. We appreciate all that you all did! My daughter figured out that we drove 6,200 miles and hit 15 states on our little venture to Airventure. Suffice to say, we are glad to be home, and look forward to that journey in the RV-10 ...... This year had the rounds at an all time high for the "Mush Pot" award as the rains were relentless for the days prior to show time. Memories will include: a brand new Dodge 4 x 4 stopping, looking down the road (corner of 52nd and Lindberg), and quickly putting it in 4 wheel drive, making a procedure turn - - - buried to the axles with all 4 wheels spinning and no forward progress in just 15 seconds - what a mess; The night Airshow was really nice and something different; celebrating the anniversary of the C-47 or DC-3 and watching that many (about 40) of them fly over together (may never be seen again) was awesome; watching the WWII veterans de-plane after being taken to Washington DC on a special mission to visit the WWII and other Memorials by American Airlines - very moving, knowing how much my own Father would have enjoyed that treat as he too flew C-47's in WWII; getting Carroll Shelby's signature and having him shake my hand and say, "May God Bless You" was a special treat (Mr. Shelby is the oldest living dual organ transplant recipient to date); AND I COULD GO ON AND ON! Those of you who have not ever made it to the big OSH need to put it on your to do list as it IS the greatest airshow in the world and if you have a passion for aviation, you will think you are in heaven. How many knew that Yellowstone National Park was Easter like in July? Well it is, or should I say "was" this year. Flowers everywhere, stunning - we even had the ole Bison walk out on to the road right in front of us and proceed for almost 30 minutes @ 1/2 mile/hour staying in our lane the entire time! Around the next corner - bear grazing in the meadow - show stopper. Badlands, Sturgis, Minute Man Missle Site, etc etc. Point is that even if your RV-10 is not complete yet, the family can plan a really nice memorable vacation together in the family vehicle to OSH. Think my daughter is now addicted and will need her annual Oshkosh fix over and over. Guess her helicopter ride this year from Pioneer Village added to that feeling! My wife now wants that rating! OK, back to the fiberglass... Was great to see over 20 (including Van and brother Jerry's) RV-10's fly in, as well as many old friends and some new @ the show and look forward to another great show next year. Keep pounding, and glassing away! I wouldn't build another homebuilt without one. I have a great deal of experience documentation on my RV-8 Construction log under the "Electrical" and "Avionics" sections. Below are links to each. Marc Ausman of Vertical Power was a tremendous help to me during the design and installation of the electrical system. My score for the VP-200 system? 10/10. Hands down the coolest way to build a modern day aircraft electrical system. I second Matt on the VP-200, it has made it significantly easier, and let me tell you that the wiring design and implementation was the hardest piece for me. I would not build my plane any other way, at first I thought the cost was too high but the more I have designed it the more features I find the VP does for me that would have cost extra without it. It makes it well worth the difference of old school versus the solid state.
