I had the identical problem about a year ago. Talked to Sandy at GRT
and she said I needed a new fuel pressure transducer. That fixed the
problem. She indicated that this was a fairly common issue.

While getting ready to land in IA after a trip to FL my fuel pressure
went up to 111. The FP went up about the time the time I hit the
electric boost pump. With the red lights flashing, the engine ran
normally and an uneventful landing was made. I thought that maybe a
ground wire had become intermittent and that was the cause of the
problem. During take-off the lights came back on and finally went
out during the cruise portion of the flight to WI. The FP light did
not come back on when I landed with the boost pump on at my home
airport.
I checked into the problem after I got home. The sender came with
the GRT EIS. The ground wire is secure. The sender tests at 7 ohms
with no pressure and around 720 ohms with the boost pump on. Does
anyone have any insight as to what is going on with the fuel
pressure? Is there a way the sender can become intermittent?
Thanks,
Sheldon Olesen

I had a similar problem.......I ordered a new sender, but it ended up being
the ground wire.
130 hours, or so and no real probe problems for me.

I switched to EI probes ( they claim 2000 hours); the problem with alternate
probes seems to be that the GRT harness must be expended and even though
using the same material the length changes the resistance and the probes
register significantly different temperatures. After leaning I use the
normalization function to monitor any changes. I have three extended leads
and three /EGTs that differ by more than 150F difference from the others.
They still peak at the same fuel flows but the peak temperatures are
different. Prior to installing the EI EGT probes I had replaced 3 0r 4? GRT
probes in less than 300 hours. So far the fuel/oil transducers and have
functioned properly.

=0A=C2-=0AI installed the Van's latch to plans, and have=C2- about 80 h
ours with it.=C2- Its not =0Ahard to open from inside or outside, and the
latch allows the door to stay=C2-open =0Aa little on hot days.=C2- =0A
=0A=C2-=0AThe only concern I have to date is recently I got a little agre
ssive on the =0Arunup with just the safety latch engaged, and the door flew
open.=C2- With this =0Ahappening on a ground runup with just the prop bl
ast, I have serious doubts it =0Awould hold if the main latch failed in fli
ght.=C2- I suspect the door would open =0Ajust enough for the wind to gra
b it, flex it, and tear it off.=0A=C2-=0ANow its possible that my install
is not exactly like others, but after that =0Aincident, I now assume the s
afety latch will be ineffective.=C2- I might start to =0Afeel a little be
tter if there are a few real examples of this latch working in =0Aflight.
=0A=C2-=0AIf I had to do it again, I would bite the bullet and buy one of
the 3rd party =0Aoptions being offered.=C2- Their secondary benefits=C2
-are that there is just one =0Ahandle to move in an emergency, and they s
uck the door tight prior to engaging =0Athe pins.=0A=C2-=0AJust my 2 cent

safety =0Alatch that Vans provides for the door service bulletin? =0A=0ACa
n I buy a couple?=0AI also wonder why the latch is installed in the center
of the door, instead of =0Athe front, near the handle. Maybe the idea is th
at the rear seat pax can reach =0Ait there, with an unconscious co-pilot af
ter a wreck.=C2-But the =0Aforward=C2-location=C2-=C2-would allow t
he=C2-front seater to reach it without turning or =0Areaching behind them
=C2-during normal ops or an emergency.=0AAlso the fact that it is forward
would maybe provide more security for it's =0Adesigned function, that is k
eeping the door from opening and flying off the =0Aairplane. If the door is
held in the center,=C2-due=C2-to the failure of the primary =0Alatches
, it could flex quite a bit,=C2-=C2-and maybe catch the wind enough to
tear off =0Athe airplane. If the safety latch is forward, then the=C2-=C2
-small partial opening in =0Athe front should not allow the air to get be
hind the door, flex it, and create =0Ahavoc.=0AAnyone deviate from the plan
s? I'm getting ready to cut some holes, and would =0Alike a discussion on t
his.=0A=C2-=0ADoors=C2-are kicking my #!**?=0AChris Hukill=0Awww.==
